Yves Swolfs

Yves Swolfs , born the April 25th 1955 with Brussels, in Belgium, is a scenario writer and draftsman of Belgian Cartoon .

At the end of the Seventies, after literary studies, Yves Swolfs made of the studies of journalism (1976-1979) and follows courses at Claude Renard to the workshop R, section cartoon of the Saint-Luc Institute of Brussels. The end of its studies is sanctioned by a diploma decreed by the University of Article Its first history appears in the second volume of the Ninth Dream , series of collective albums of the students of the workshop, in 1978 appeared with the Editions of the Archers.

Yves Swolfs begins his career of draftsman with advertizing illustrations, small cartoons and various work. In May 1980, it creates Durango , character of western inspired by the Western spaghetti and Clint Eastwood. The series appears without pre-publication with the Editions of the Archers. Dargaud repurchases it later ten years.

In 1987, it is tested with bandaged drawn historical with Dampierre , series created for the magazine of Glénat, Vécu , whose intrigue is at the time of the Vendean wars and the French revolution. Appeared in September - October 1989, volume 2 is presented in preview to the castle of the Puy of Insane the. Starting from the third volume, it concentrates on its scenario and the drawing with Eric gives up some, then Legein. In 1994, it undertakes the saga the Prince of the night , a history of vampire through the ages which gains a sharp success. In May 2000, he imagines the adventures of Vlad with Griffo with the drawing, in the collection Troisème Vague at Lombard. He also created a western entitled Black Hills . In 2003, it starts a new series entitled Légende , which occurs to the Moyen-âge.

Beside the cartoon, Yves Swolfs plays of the guitar within a group of Hard-rock, “Lazare”, who is a certain success in Belgium. He was in lawsuit with Michael Jackson in connection with a plagiarism of one of his songs. At the end of 2006, the new musical group of Swolfs (“Wolf Gang”) leaves CD which accompanies the new volume by Légende .
