Yellow dog Updater, Modified
Y ellow dog U pdater, M odified ( Yum ) is the manager of packages created by Yellow Dog and used by Fedora Core.
It makes it possible to manage the installation and the update of the software installed on a distribution GNU/Linux. It is a surcouche with RPM managing the remote loadings and the dependences, in the same manner as APT of Debian or Urpm* (see Urpmi) Mandriva.
