Yanqui U.X.O.
Yanqui U.X.O. is the fourth album of the group Godspeed You! Black Emperor left on the label Constellation Records in 2002. This album marks a minor change in the name of the group: the point of exclamation in the past located at the end of the name is from now on after " You". This change seems to be made to approach documentary Japanese who inspired this name to them, namely the film God Speed You! Black Emperor.
" Yanqui" is the Spanish word for " Yankee ". In the booklet, it is marked that it is about a multinational oligarchy of companies (multinational corporate oligarchy), while U.X.O means " unexploded ordnance" , i.e. ammunition which did not explode.
