Xavier Philips

Xavier Philips , born in 1971 with Paris, is a Violoncelliste French.

Biography

Xavier Philips began the violoncello at 6 years. He returns to the Conservatoire of Paris in 1986 and is formed with Philippe Muller. He obtains the First price of the academy in 1989. After a third price with the Contest Rostropovitch in 1989, it continues its formation with Mstislav Rostropovitch which particularly noticed it. They will work a dozen years together, the Master inviting it regularly as soloist of the orchestras which it is brought to direct.

Xavier Philips plays a violoncello of Matteo Gofriller of 1710.
