Work of Thonnelle

The Ouvrage of Thonnelle is a small work with four blocks of the Secteur strengthened of Montmédy of the Ligne Maginot located in the commune of Thonnelle in the department of the Meuse (department), with a few kilometers of the border with the Belgium.

As much of small works of the Line, the work of Thonnelle was not finished in accordance with the initial plans. Indeed, Thonnelle was to be an artillery rough work with an entry (in 2nd cycle) and 8 blocks of engagements. In addition to the 4 completed blocks it was envisaged to build a turret of 75 model 1933 (2nd cycle), a turret of 75 model 1932R, a turret of 135 and a turret of 81 (all three envisaged in 3rd cycle).
