Wiseppe (river)

The Wiseppe is small a French Rivière which runs in the departments of the the Ardennes and the Meuse, affluent of the Meuse out of left bank.

Geography

Wiseppe is born in Argonne, with Tailly (Barricourt), locality located at seven or eight kilometers in the east of Buzancy, in the department of the Ardennes. Its course is directed in general towards the North-East, with some important meanders however. It joins the Meuse on the level of Laneuville-on-Meuse, i.e. vis-a-vis the town of Stenay. Its basin is located in an extremely wooded zone of Argonne at high rainfall. It is fed by a series of small and large brooks.

It bathes the localities of Barricourt, Nouart, Beaufort-in-Argonne, Wiseppe and of Laneuville-on-Meuse.

Hydrology

The average interannual flow or module of the river to the confluence of the Meuse is worth 1,18 m ³ a second for a small catchment area of 89,5 km ². The water blade run out in its basin is of 416 millimetres, which is enough raised, definitely higher than that of the average of France, all confused basins, but a little lower than the average of the French basin of the Meuse. Its specific Flow or Qsp is assembled at 13,2 liters a second and per square kilometer.
