William Orville Ayres

William Orville Ayres is a Médecin and a American ichtyologist , born the September 11th 1817 with Connecticut and dead the April 30th 1887.

It makes studies with Yale where it obtains a title of doctor in Médecine. Impassioned by the Natural history and in particular by the Ornithology, it becomes friendly of the painter and ornithologist John James Audubon (1785-1851). He off becomes the first conservative of the Ichtyologie of the California Academy Sciences.
