William John Patterson
honourable the William John Patterson (born the May 13rd 1886 and deceased the June 10th 1976) was a Canadian Politician of the province of Saskatchewan. Member of the provincial Liberal party, it succeeded James Garfield Gardiner to become the first native of the province to being Prime Minister in 1935. He is beaten with the election of 1944 by the Co-operative the Commonwealth Federation of Tommy Douglas, and resigns of the direction of the Liberal party in 1946.
Patterson was also Lieutenant-governor of the province of 1951 with 1958, becoming the first nobody to have been at the same time Prime Minister and lieutenant-governor of the province.
