William Allen Miller

William Allen Miller (December 7th 1817 - September 30th 1870) is a British Chimiste .

Although he is chemist his principal contribution is in the field of the Astronomie, more specifically in Spectroscopie which is a new research field at the time.

It gains the Gold medal of Royal Astronomical Society in 1867 with William Huggins for their spectroscopic study of the composition of stars.

The crater Miller on the the Moon bears its name.
