Willem Van Genk is an artist Dutch born in 1927 with Voorburg, close to $the Hague.

It loses his mother at the five years age and knows health issues and suffers from a deficit of concentration. It is more inclined to draw than to study. His/her father, an employee, who beat it regularly, the registered voter in a technical training school, which he attends during two years. It ends up being placed in a workshop for mentally handicapped persons. Willem became being wary and distressed. Following searchings of the Gestapo at the family home, this artist develops a secret fascination for the capacity which develops of par with its horror of Fascism. He draws imposing sights of cities to impressive architectures where the man appears unimportant. Such is consequently the obsessional topic of its compositions.

Van Genk worked out a complex technique which implements the Dessin, the Peinture, the Découpage and the Collage, combined with rigor and meticulousness. Its discovered talent, its works were the subject of a great exposure to the Collection of rough art of Lausanne in 1986. For a few years, Van Genk has been also devoted to impressive models of bus, starting from heteroclite materials. Its work is present in the Collection of the Rough Art of Lausanne.
