Wattignies

Wattignies is a common French, located in the department of the Northern (59) and the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais.

Its inhabitants is called Wattignisiens.

Geography

Located at the south-west of the agglomeration inhabitant of Lille, it is bordering on Lille, Annoy-Thumesnil, Templemars, Noyelles-lès-Seclin, Emmerin and Loos.

History

The existence of the city is attested since 1076 under the name of “Watteniis”.
