Walo
Walo (or Wallo, Oualo, Waalo) is a geographical term which indicates the cultivated grounds located in the floodplains at the edge of a river. One also speaks about “cultures of falls”.
The term refers in particular to the grounds located at the north of the Senegal, along the Fleuve Senegal, near the Mauritania.
He is opposed in general to the Diéri, of the zones further away from the river and never flooded.
