Wales in the Five Nations tournament 1970

The team of Wales finished first of the Five Nations tournament 1970 by gaining three victories and while losing against the team of Ireland. It shares the victory in the tournament with the team of France.

Wales will carry out the Grand Slam in 1971 with practically the same team.

This victory is the second of long series of eight victories in eleven years in the Five Nations tournament, of 1969 with 1979.

23 players contributed to this success. The team is especially known for her quartet of the back lines: Gareth Edwards, Barry John, Gerald Davies and JPR Williams. The package of fronts was also of excellent quality, with five players who evolved/moved with the British Lions.
