Volvo ÖV4

The ÖV4 , or “Jakob”, is the first model produced by the Car manufacturer Swedish Volvo. The first specimen leaves the assembly line of the factory of Lundby the April 14th 1927. " Jakob" allotted deferred action is an not-official denomination to the ÖV4; it was acted in fact of the nickname of one of the prototypes of the car.

It is a car discovered simple in four places, provided with a four-cylinder motor of 28 ch, and with a box three speeds. It is also offered in version Pick-up. As from 1928, Volvo will offer the old Frein on the four wheels in option. Approximately 275 ÖV4 are sold between 1927 and 1929.

The ÖV4 (discovery) and the PV4 (closed) are quickly exceeded. They are replaced by the PV651 in 1929. ÖV is a diminutive of Öppen Vagn , car discovered in Swedish. The 4 means that it has four places.
