Vincent Kohler

Vincent Kohler (born in 1977 with Lausanne) is an artist Suisse.

He teaches at the High school of art and design in Geneva (esba)

He belongs to the collective founded ABC in 2004 with Jean-Luc Manz, Denis Pernet and Jean Crotti

Set of themes of artistic research

You have certainly, a day or the other, carried out these small agreeably ridiculous things which fill the idle periods of the life: mashed potatoes castles, potato animals, paper catches, etc the majority of my work come from this kind of small pleasures, pathetic as much as delectable.

Charlotte represents a potato monster assembled using toothpicks and my sausages leave their plate to seem naïades spouting out of the floods. I obviously force on the scale in order to impose more drawing up the commonplace of these improbable creatures, contrast between an imposing effect and the ridiculous one of material represented.

I like to use forsaken objects or which does not present, prioi, no interest has. I let myself allure by popular esthetics and the spontaneousness of the ludic things which awake all the richnesses of the bad taste.
