Vinalon

The vinalon is a synthetic Fiber created at the end of the Années 1930 by the Korean scientist IH Sung Gi (1905-1996). The fiber is obtained starting from the Calcaire and from the Anthracite.

Historically, it is about second industrial textile fiber created, developped at the point in October 1939, two years after the creation of the Nylon.

After having accommodated the professor IH Sung-gi in July 1950, the North Korea is the only country in the world to have chosen to exploit the vinalon on an industrial scale starting from the Années 1960. The abundant resources Anthracite in the country made this choice economic locally viable.

The principal factory North-Korean of vinalon is established with Hamhung (source: article of Philippe Pons in the daily newspaper " Monde" ).
