Versainville is a common French, located in the department of the Calvados and the area Basse-Normandie.
Geography
Versainville is located at about thirty km in the south of Caen, in the vicinity immediate of Falaise, in the department of the Apple-brandy (Lower Normandy).
History
The origin of the name Versainville is very discussed. Some claim that it would be about the property of certain Versanus or Versinius, Roman. As of the paleolithic one, there is a human presence on the site of Versainville, presence attested by the discovery of tools and flint glares.
In 1994, archaeological work is completed and is discovered with the place says “Crossroads of the Fastener”, an enclosure of approximately 5.200 m ² attesting presence of a Gallic tribe at the iron age (approximately 200 to 50 years front JC).
