The Vellum paper is a thin Papier, pure wire (Chiffon, Alfa, Coton, etc) often very white.

It is from the paper machine with extremely fine mesh wires invented in 1750 by English John Baskerville.

Contrary to paper known as “Vergé” vellum does not comprise any “phantom image”.
