Vase (sea)
In the harbor-basins, the vase gathers, in an impressive amalgam, rejections and Déchet S suspended or incorporated on the Sable. Sediment consistent, never uniform, often worked by Micro-organism S, being gorged at the time of Hydrocarbon S, of Nitrogen, Phosphorus, heavy metals, the mud of sea disturbs the fluidity of the channels.
All the ports are concerned, small or large, especially the arsenals where the mud is extremely contaminated. In addition to natural erosion, the traffic supports the accumulation of Sédiment S. Each day, from expensive operations of Dragage release the access of the ways of navigation. The Clapage then consists in off-setting the Boue S to reject them out of deep water without one really knowing how harbor waste and the marine ecosystem cohabit. As the places of clapage are sometimes distant zones of dredging, storage with ground is sometimes practiced. Mobilizing impressive surfaces, it without ecological risk if waste is not sanctuarisés, is not buckled in tight boxes. In a case as in the other, the adopted solution does not agree with the idea of “clean port”.
Today the operations of the treatment of the vase of sea are rare and relate to low volume, mainly contaminated sediments. Once decontaminated, left with the abandonment or clapés, the latter are not developed. A better answer consists of the valorization of the vase with a view to produce construction materials (embankment of the Route S or Parking S, edges of Trottoir, Parpaing S, products moulded, flagstones, bricks). As gets busy there the Paneurochina model, it is initially necessary to dehydrate the mud, then to encapsulate heavy metals and other impurities and in fine to increase its mechanical performances by formulas of additions chimiques. As everywhere in the world, the mineral resources are in the process of shortage, in particular, the alluvial materials, rich in Granulat S. Like also, the careers close, considered to be polluting, sometimes dangerous.
