5th transport company large transport aircrafts

April 30th 1964, following the dissolution of the 4 {{E}} foreign Regiment, the 6th company carried of the 4th REI becomes 5th company carried (CP) of the 2 {{E}} foreign . May 1st 1965, it takes the denomination of 5th transport company large transport aircrafts (5th CTGP). Transformed into unit of the train, the activities of the company fall under the evacuation of the the Sahara.

The 5th CTGP of the 2nd REI is divided into groups corresponding to the various types of vehicles and the missions. The command, groups GLR and GBO Berliet are based with Reggane; the Willeme group with Colomb-Béchar. The vehicles of the company circulate of the borders of the the Sahara to the the Mediterranean, on the axis Mers el Kébir - In Amguel.

The 5th CTGP of the 2nd REI is dissolved on July 1st 1967, at the time of the establishment of the regiment with Bou-Sfer.

Distinguished:

openwork Crown of gold carrying the forward inscription: “5th COMPANY TRANSPORT - Foreign legion”; in the center, minaret of money stitching on a star with five branches gilded. The badge was created for Camerone 1966, by the Oui captain, ordering the company.

Company of passage of Saigon

Created on May 1st 1947, the company of passage of Foreign legion (CPLE) of Saigon (Cochinchine) is based at the height of Cay May. The grenade with seven flames and the colors green and red are the symbols of the Legion; the boat and the plane evoke the vocation of the unit; the grenade placed on the southern part of Indo-China specifies the establishment of the unit. The badge was created in 1948.

Disciplinary company in the Far East

Constituted on June 1st 1946, the company punishment of the regiment foreigners in the Far East (CDRE/EO) is stationed on the island of Tagne, in Camwood Ranh bay. Attached to the 2 {{E}} foreign regiment of infantry, it depends on the battalions established with the Center Vietnam. After the 1st battalion, this load falls on the 4th battalion, arrived in February 1950, being in the area of Quang Nam. The company accommodates the disciplinary ones of all the foreign regiments present in Indo-China. The CDRE/EO is dissolved on August 11th 1954, while the island of Tagne is availability of the Commando Jaubert.

Distinguished:

Grenade with seven gold flames; the bomb of the grenade carries the black letters “CD” surrounded of the inscription “LASTED LEX SED LEX” in front of the flames is detached a white sail. The grenade with seven flames is the symbol of the legion; the white sail is that of jonque, which recalls the establishment of 1 ' unit on an island, connected with ground only by boat; the inscription means: “The law is hard but it is the law” evoking the character of the unit. The badge was created in 1947, by captain DUTTER, ordering the CDRE/EO.

61e mixed Battalion of Genius Legion (61e BMGL)

Unit of genius Légion which was in particular in charge of the built construction of the camp and the highway network of the Camp of Canjuers.
