Short history

As of the end of the XIXème century

The history of the Groupe starts at the end of the 19th century following the discovery of the Mannesmann brothers in 1884. One of the companies which belongs from now on to the group, that which is located at Montbard, in Burgundy, was introduced with the Paris Bourse as of 1899.
During years 1890, three foundries are born in the north of France. One is based with VALLEY encians, the other with LOU vroil and the last with REC quignies. In 1930, a bringing together between these three companies appears to lead in 1957 to a name change: The Group.

Fusion with Mannesmannröhren-Werke

The year 1997 marks a true turning for the group. Thanks to the joint-venture with the Mannesmannröhren-Werke German, he becomes the world leader of the seamless steel pipe, under the name of " Vallourec & Mannesmann tubes" .
The history of the group Bolloré is related to that of. Indeed, the most been worth realized between 1998 and 2004 took part in the construction of its current fortune.

The Groupe manufactures tubes of Forage for the gas and oil wells and Oléoduc S, tube for the Raffinerie S, tube for the power stations of electrical production, tube such as those for the exhaust or the shock absorbers of the cars, and the tubes 5 mms in diameter for the hydraulically-operated machines.
