Valeri Vladimirovitch Polyakov (in Russian: ВалерийВладимировичПоляков ) born with Toula in Russia the April 27th 1942 is the cosmonaut which holds the record of longest the Space flight of the history of humanity, while having remained more than 14 month of sharpened on board the Space station Mir. It passed on the whole more than 22 month in space.

Biography

It was recruited as a cosmonaut in the medical group 3 the March 22nd 1972. It took its retirement as a cosmonaut on June 1st 1995.

It made its studies at the medical institute I. Mr. Setchenov of Moscow and left there with a Doctorat. It then specialized in medicine astronautics at the institute of the medical and biological problems, depend on the ministry of public health of Moscow. He is currently the assistant editor of the ministry for the public health of Moscow.

Flights carried out

He was doctor cosmonaut on the missions Soyuz TM-6/Soyuz TM-7 and of Soyuz TM-18/Soyuz TM-20 on board the Mir space station.
