Valérius Romulus
Valérius Romulus, born in 292/295 and died in 309, was the son of the emperor Maxence (306-312), and the grandson of the emperor Maximien Hercules.
In 308, then in 309, it is named clarissimus puer (allowed child with the senate) and nobilissimus to vir (very noble character), it is made consul two years of continuation, with his father and probably dies before 310. Indeed, Maxence is only consul this year. Romulus was buried in the imperial residence of his/her father, on the via Appia , its tomb imposing was conceived to be used as dynastic mausoleum.
After his death his/her father dedicates to him a temple, the temple of divine Romulus on the Roman Forum. After the defeat of Maxence, the temple was dedicated to Constantin by decree of the senate. The name of Romulus had not been selected in a way indifferent by Maxence but corresponds to its policy option of exalter its bonds to the capital of the empire to draw some from prestige vis-a-vis its competitors for the supreme capacity.
