History

The General society of companies (SGE) was created in 1899 by two engineers polytechnicians, Alexandre Giros and Louis Loucheur. The SGE was renamed VINCI in 2000.

The SGE was controlled of 1966 to 1984 by the general Compagnie of electricity (CGE) become Alcatel, then by Saint-Gobain between 1984 and 1988, and finally by the general Compagnie of water, become Vivendi, until 2000.

In July 2000, group VINCI becomes independent and acquires engine (Grands work of Marseilles), subsidiary of Suez and becomes the world leader of the BTP in front of Bouygues. In 2005 its share of Autoroutes of the south of France passes to 73,4%.

VINCI is with dimensions with the Paris Bourse and enters the composition of the index CAC 40.

Activities of the group (2006)

VINCI Concessions is the first European operator of concessions of infrastructures of highways transport, road works, carparks, airports. Acquisition in 2006 of group ASF, registered in the strategic logic of VINCI, reinforced its profile of dealer-manufacturer integrated, capable to conceive, finance, build and exploit within the framework of contracts of long life the transport infrastructures and the equipment meeting the needs for the communities.

In France, VINCI Concessions has a very strong base with 4.300 km of highways in concession on the networks of ASF, ESCOTA, Cofiroute and Arcour (concessionary company of A19 between Artenay and Courtenay); 480.000 parking spaces managed by VINCI Park, including 290.000 in concession or freehold, and of the participations in several concessionary companies or operating of infrastructures: the company of the tunnel of the Prado-Careenage (Marseilles); Openly, the owner of the northern ring road of Lyon; Seag and Seaca, operators of the airports of Grenoble and Chambéry; the consortium of the Stade de France.

VINCI Concessions is also present at international with, in the United Kingdom, the bridges on Severn, crossings of the Thames with Dartford and the southern skirting of Newport; in Portugal bridges on Tage; in Greece the bridge Charilaos Trikoupis (Rion-Antirion); in Canada the highway Fredericton- Moncton and the bridge of the Confederation; in the United States the highways SR91 and I-394; in Germany the system of télépéage Toll Collect; in Kampuchea three airports; in Jamaica a section of highway and 380.000 parking bays managed in 11 countries.

At the same time developer and assembler of new concessions and shareholder of a single wallet of patents of mining claims, VINCI Concessions is particularly well placed to benefit from the public-private development of the partnerships (PPP), stimulated at the same time by the importance of the needs for equipment of the communities, increasingly opened with this novel mode of realization, and by the abundance of the private capital available for this new class of credits.

Engaged in addition in a new dynamics of service, VINCI Concessions implements innovations which optimize the exploitation of the infrastructures of which he is dealer or operator, in a step responsible for délégataire of public service, anxious to answer waitings of its 600 million final customers.

VINCI Energies, sVINCI Energies is the leader in France and an actor of foreground in Europe of the related services to technologies of energies and information. He meets the multiple and evolutionary needs for his customers - industrialists, service companies, local government agencies, operators of energy and the télécoms - by integrating these technologies in offers to measure into strong contents of service.

Accompanying its customers at all the stages by their projects - design and engineering, realization, exploitation, maintenance -, VINCI Energies intervenes in four fields:

- infrastructures: networks of energy (transport, transformation and distribution of electrical energy); setting in light of the cities and urban development; transport infrastructures (lighting, power supply and information systems);

- industry: electric energy distribution and contrôlecommande, mechanics, treatment of the air, protection fire, insulation, plant maintenance;

- tertiary sector: networks of energy, climatic genius, plumbing, detection and protection fire, technical management of building, safety, multitechnique and multiservice maintenance;

- telecommunications: infrastructures and communication of company voice-data-images.

VINCI Energies proposes in all these fields of the offers with strong added value implemented in Europe by 700 companies federated in networks, in particular through six marks (see below). Associated with a diagram of management based on the responsibility for the teams and a strong culture of service, this organization makes it possible to develop at the same time local and total solutions, which accompany the customers in all dimensions by their projects with an approach of interior designer. The activity of VINCI Energies is carried out through a great number of recurring contracts, comprising a significant share of maintenance and renewal, which constitute its principal goodwills. Gathering 27.000 collaborators in twenty country, primarily in Europe, VINCI Energies realizes nearly 30% of its turnover out of France.

Eurovia is one of the world leaders of road work and the recycling of materials and the first French road aggregate producer.

Eurovia has 4 great trades: - Road Work: Built Eurovia, renovates and maintains the road infrastructures, highway and railway as well as industrial and commercial platforms. Exerted for the account of customers public and deprived, this activity represents about half of the turnover and is distributed on approximately 40.000 building sites per annum. - Production of materials: Eurovia manages a network of 210 careers, 60 factories of binders, 385 stations of coating and 135 platforms of material recycling and valorization. This activity, complementary to work, contributes to the growth of Eurovia like to its results and guarantees a provisioning of quality of its building sites. Its reserves amount to 1,8 billion tons of materials, that is to say approximately 30 years of production. - Installation of the framework of life and environment: Eurovia controls the whole of know-how associated with urban qualitative installations (platforms of transport in exclusive right of way, embellishment of public spaces, sites ludic and sportsmen…) and with the security of the transport infrastructures (indication and differentiation of roadways). The company is also present in the trades related to environmental protection: déconstruction, poses screens antipollution antibruit and, cleansing and water conveyance, sealing, centers of storage of waste. - Services: Eurovia intervenes upstream of the projects of infrastructures (design coordination, council, technical assistance) and ensures downstream from the services such as maintenance on site, the data-processing management of networks, winter viability and the emergency interventions.

Realizing more than 90% of its turnover in Europe (mainly in France, in Germany, in the United Kingdom, as a Czech Republic and Spain), Eurovia also holds significant positions in the United States (Florida, North Carolina), in Canada (Quebec) and Chile.

Associating a strong anchoring on multiple local markets, an ambitious policy of innovation and operation in network of ses300 agencies and subsidiary companies, the development model of Eurovia is based on the vertical integration of its various expertises.

VINCI Construction Leader in France and world major of construction, VINCI Construction is the first contributor with the turnover of the Group.

It joins together a whole without equivalent of competences in the trades of the building, civil engineering, hydraulic work and the services.

Its activity is divided into three complementary components: - the Metropolitan France, with VINCI Construction France, formed of the bringing together into 2007 of Sogea Construction and engine Construction, which has a network of 370 centers of profit strongly anchored on their regional and local markets; - local markets except Metropolitan France, covered by a network of subsidiary companies which exert the whole of the building trades in their zones of intervention: VINCI PLC in the United Kingdom; CFE (held to 46,8%) with the Benelux countries; VINCI Construction International Subsidiary companies in Germany, in Central Europe, in France of overseas and in Africa; - activities concerned with worldwide markets: great works, with VINCI Construction Great projects; specialized civil engineering with high-tech, with Freyssinet; dredging, with DEME (held to 50% by CFE).

VINCI Construction is the matrix of the culture of contractor of the Group and his diagram of management, combining work in network, decentralized organization, autonomy and individual responsibility of the framing.

Associated with a constant strategy of development of the added-value and recurring share of the activity, this diagram made it possible to record a constant progression of the results during the five last years, in a context of strong growth of the activity.
