University of engineers in electronic engineering

ESIGELEC is an University of Engineers general practitioners, managed by the Chamber of commerce and of industry of Rouen.

More than 7.000 graduates since his creation. A total staff complement of more than 1120 students and 230 teachers and personnel including 95 permanent. Promotions of 300 pupils - engineers, including 90 apprentices. 4 departments, 8 laboratories, an Research institute.

Pedagogy

A pedagogy by projects.

A range of 8 dominant technological and 9 approaches trades

5 dominant bilingual French-English of which one entirely declined in English

60 conventions with universities or schools of engineers in 30 countries. A network of 3000 companies including 400 abroad One period abroad obligatory: summer schools, training courses, six-month period, year of caesura, or in last year within the framework of Master.

The possibility of a double competence:

engineer-manager thanks to professional Master of Administration of the companies (DESS) led in parallel to the last year of the cycle engineer
or an orientation seeks possible thanks to obtaining Master Recherche (DEA) with the possibility of then undertaking a work of thesis within the framework of the Research institute of the school.

An Research institute with industrial purpose, IRSEEM, in convergence with the needs for auto industries, aeronautics like electronic and telecommunications. The possibility of creating its own company with vocation high technology within the framework of antenna ESIGELEC of the regional incubator.

Future

Extension of its internationalization as regards recruitment, pedagogy, research and support to the companies. The setting of place of the validation of the assets. The creation of the supplement to the diploma. Harmonization of the course within the framework of the ECTS. Integration in national, European and international networks of excellence. The development of research with industrial calling in co-operation with the sectors car, aeronautics, electronics and telecommunications. Creation with the Universities of Rouen and Le Havre of joint teams as well as a step of certification of the activities of the IRSEEM.

To take part fully in the creation of the future CLOSE to Normandy (pole of research and higher education).

The creation of a Campus embarked Systems dedicated to the research activities & development and of formation, been dependant on the dies aeronautics and car, in order to create a platform with world vocation.

Formation

The ESIGELEC forms Engineer S in the dominant following ones:

Engineering of the electronic systems of Telecommunication (ISET)
Engineering communications (ICOM), in the past telecommunication optics (ITO)
Architecture Safety Networks (ASR) - bilingual
Genius of the Information systems (GSI) - bilingual
Automatic and Robot-like industrial (ARI)
Engineering of the embarked Systems (ISE) - 100% English or bilingual
Electronic engineering and Transport (GET) - bilingual
Engineer of businesses (IA)

NB: Dominant Electronics Telecommunication and Ultra high frequencies (ETH) do not exist any more.

It is also possible to continue one 3rd cycle in the following mastères:

Mastère in Science Management of the Information systems (in partnership with the ESC Rouen)
Mastère in Science Embarked Electronic systems
Mastère in Administration of the companies

Dies

There exist three courses of teaching leading to the same diploma:

Traditional die

1st year in joint base
2nd year in two parts: 1st six-month period in joint base and second half-year by dominant (above)
3rd year in two parts also: 1st six-month period by dominant then 6 to 9 months of training course engineer to enclose the course.

The diploma is delivered with any pupil who will have satisfied:

Average higher or equalizes to 12 in 3rd year;
TOEIC equal to or higher than 750 points;
working Training course (1 month), foreign training course (1 month), training course technician (2 months) and training course engineer (6 to 9 months) validated.

Die training

Die training: 3 years of teaching in alternation with a company. The pupil is thus remunerated and does not need more to pay the school fees, which are ensured by the CCI of Rouen and its company.
a 2 months mission abroad is necessary at the conclusion of the second year.

Fontanet course

Die open to the holders of a Bac+2 diploma scientific or technical and justifying 3 years minimum of track records.

After a levelling during 3 months (level of exit of prépa), the candidates integrate the traditional die and are mixed with the other students.

the diploma delivered at the conclusion of this formation is identical to that of the traditional die.

Admissions

integrated preparatory Cycle:

Admission with Vat for the 1st year, 120 places.
Admission in Bac+1 (1st year of License or CPGE necessarily validated), 10 places.

Cycle engineer:

the admission is done by contest on the Bac+2 level or via the examination of the preparatory cycle integrated or by recruitment on file after control.
For the pupils of BTS, HAD and ATS, the admission is done by common contest of ENSEA.

History

1901 : Creation by Alain Charliat of the Practical School of Industrial Electricity (which will become the EEIP École of Industrial Electricity of Paris)
1922: Recognition by the state
1936: Recognition by the Commission of the titles
1968: The school settles with Beauvais.
1980 : The EEIP becomes the E adhesive S upérieure of I ngénieurs in G énie ELEC cudgel (ESIGELEC)
1989: The ESIGELEC becomes member of the Conference of the universities
1991: The school settles with Mount-Saint-Aignan close to Rouen

2001: Creation of the IRSEEM, research laboratory specialized in the embarked systems.
2004 : Installation of the school in new buildings, on the Technopolis of Madrillet, with Saint-Etienne-of-Rouvray the in the south of Rouen
2005: September 16th, inauguration of the new buildings
