The Université of Santa Clara (in English Santa Clara University , shortened in SCU ) is a private Université located at Santa Clara, in California. Its charter is approved by the State of California and it is accredited by the Western Association off Schools and Colleges. It is managed in collaboration with the Society of Jesus, whose members founded the school in 1851. The University of Santa Clara is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in California, and the oldest catholic university in the American west. It is one of the 28 institutions members of Association off Jesuit Colleges and Universities.
