University of Quebec with Chicoutimi

The Université of Quebec with Chicoutimi ( UQAC ) is a French-speaking university located in the sector of the downtown area of the town of Saguenay at the Quebec, affiliated with the Université of Quebec.

Founded in 1969, it appears among most modern in the Quebec. In addition to its principal campus, the university has centers of studies in Malbaie, Saint-Félicien, Alma and Seven-Islands. In 2004,6 648 students were incrits there, which makes of it the third of the ten institutions members of UQ, after UQAM and UQTR.

Its researchers in technologies of aluminum, forestry, studies on icing, geology, and history of the populations are particularly well recognized.

1970, the Foundation of the UQAC is created.

1998, inauguration of the House of humanities.

2005, Town of Saguenay and the UQAC inaugurate the football field and of soccer.

2006, the UQAC inaugurates its new house of the medicine and sciences of health where the Université of Sherbrooke offers to it a delocalization of its program of medicine.
