University of Heidelberg
The university of Heidelberg , Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg is created in 1386 under the Latin name of Ruperto Carola Heidelbergensis with Heidelberg in Bade-Wurtemberg.
History
It is the oldest German university, the third of the Saint Germanic Roman Empire after those of Prague and Vienna. It was founded in 1386 by prince Ruprecht 1st.
The first professors came from Paris and Prague in prey to the wars, religion in particular, to take refuge in this stable area.

the arrogance of the students towards the citizens frequently gave place to conflicts. These arguments took sometimes a very serious character: thus in 1406, a true battle between the students and the citizens took place. Any Heidelberg was in agitation, the bells sounded alarm and blood ran abundantly. Ruprecht II, then voter, taken makes and causes for " Alma MATER Ruperta" and the middle-class men of Heidelberg to the convent of Augustins convened: it made them lend oath never not to insult the students and to protect them. The order being restored the courses began again.
