Union for socialism and the democracy

The Union for socialism and the democracy (USD) is an old political party Senegal board, whose leader was Mahmoud Saleh.

History

The party was officially recognized on July 7th 1982.

In 1998 it amalgamated with the Union for the democratic revival (URD).

Orientation

It was a left party of , explicitly Marxiste.

At the time of its creation, USD was constituted in section of the Fourth International and asserted all the theoretical assets of the Marxism. Its declared objective was “the introduction of the Communism based on the collectivization of the means of production and exchanges on the broadest democracy”.

Symbols

Its color was the red.

Organization

Its seat was with Dakar.
