Undergrowth

Broussaille is a principal character of fiction of a series éponyme created by Frank EP in the Journal of Spirou in 1978.

Biography

Undergrowth is a teenager dreamer, “with the hair in russet-red mop of hair”, which, with the wire of the stories, acquires maturity to form with Catherine a couple of young simple and happy adults.

Creation of the character

Undergrowth appears of abbord in the paper of Undergrowth , of the boards on nature like (the tortoises, the hedge, the rabbits…). He becomes then the hero of minirécits like the vault with the cats where the scenario writer Bom joined the draftsman Frank. The walks and daydreams extend to fields like painting.

In 1984, Broussaille becomes the hero of accounts longer: public whales which will become an album. The album will be followed the different one, like the sculptors of lights .

Origin of the name

The name of Undergrowth is related to its hairstyle, of the hair buckled in battle which makes thought of a bush.
