The uncle Abdon is a character of the Petit Nicolas , series of literature of youth scenarized by Rene Goscinny and illustrated by Sempé.
This character appears in the news Leçon of things .
In the history Lesson of things , the mistress asks her pupils to bring a memory of holidays in order to speak about it during the course about the following day. Each pupil thus brings the object that he points out best his holidays to him: shells, a menu of restaurant, a postcard, a book of geography, a gold watch, etc
Joachim, brings a paper-knife to him that its uncle Abdon offered to his/her father at the conclusion of a voyage to Tolède. Unfortunately, supervising it the Bubble confiscates the object immediately to him, asserting that no dangerous object is tolerated at the school. Moreover, it punishes Joachim to have lied, because the latter attests that it is the mistress who asked him to bring this object… Fortunately, the teacher arrives at raising the punishment and recovering the invaluable memory.
The uncle Abdon is quoted in no other history of the Petit Nicolas . We can however suppose that it is the paternal uncle of Joachim, since it is to the father of the latter that it offered the paper-knife.
