Uchiko (内子町 Uchiko-chō ) is a city of the Japan located in the Préfecture of Ehime and more precisely in the district of Kita.
January 1st 2005, the towns of Ikazaki and Oda were incorporated in Uchiko. Thus the city has since a population of 20.782 inhabitants, one population density of 69,4 hab/km ² and a surface of 299,50 km ².
Agriculture is developed on the territory of this slightly populated city. Thus, one produced there tobacco, Shiitake and fruits.
End of the Period Edo at the end of the Period Meiji, Uchiko developed as an important center of manufacture of paper and wax.
