Tuulos

Tuulos ( Tulois in Swedish) is small a municipality South of the Finland, in the province of southernmost Finland and the area of the Kanta-Häme.

It is the commune of birth of the painter Hjalmar Munsterhjelm (1840 - 1905). Tuulos is also known to have been the theater of one of the principal battles of the Finnish Civil war, in April 1918.

Its only significant historic building is its small church of the 15th century dedicated to Sainte Brigitte, located at the village of Sairiala to 3 kilometers in the north of the current administrative center.

The common mark the end of main road 10 arrival of Turku and is crossed by the main road 12 Rauma - Tampere - Lahti - Kouvola. The village center is located at 27 km in the north of the provincial capital Hämeenlinna. The municipalities bordering are Lammi in the east, Janakkala in the south and Hauho in the west.
