Tropical storm Jose (2005)

The tropical storm Jose was 10th cyclone season 2005 in the basin of the Atlantic Ocean. The name Jose had already been used in 1981 and 1999.

Chronology

The August 8th 2005, a tropical Onde was formed close to the African coasts . Migrating towards the west, it started the formation of the 10 {{E}} tropical depression, in the afternoon of the August 13rd, which did not last. The tropical wave carried on its way towards the the Caribbean.

The August 17th, in the middle of the Caribbean Sea, the Convection accompanying the tropical wave increased. The disturbed zone persisted and moved towards the west-north-west, towards the Péninsule of Yucatán. Above the peninsula, the system developed bands of Précipitation S organized better. The August 21st, the disturbance reached bay of Campêche, having lost many of its Nuage S convectifs.

Early the August 22nd, the convection strongly began again. Towards 12:00 UTC, one observed a cyclonic circulation in the center of the system, doing this one the 11th Tropical depression of the season. The depression moved towards the west and was organized more, developing new bands of precipitations. Towards 18:00 UTC, the depression became a Tropical storm, with 130 km with the east-north-east of Veracruz (Mexico). The National Hurricane Center indicated it Jose . The cyclone continued to intensify, presenting even a pretense of eye by touching ground. Its center touched the Mexican coast towards 3:30 UTC the August 23rd, to 55 km in the north of Veracruz.

Jose weakens quickly. Towards 12:00 UTC the August 23rd 2005, one retrogressed the storm in depression, which completed to be dissipated in the arid Montagne S of the east of Mexico.

Jose because directly 6 dead:
  • a 59 year old man was killed with Jalapa when its house was buried by a Flow mud;
  • 5 dead was caused by mud flows to Oaxaca.

Moreover, Jose because of the Flood S and the landslides which forced thousands of people to evacuate their residences.
