The tréponèmes ( Treponema ) are one of Bactérie S pertaining to the family of the Spirochaetaceae. Cells of 5 with 15  µm length on 0,1 with 0,2  µm broad is spiral. The wall is of type negative Gram. They are bacteria commensales in the Man and the animal on the level of the mouth, the intestinal tract and the urogenital system. Certain species are pathogenic for the man.

  • Treponema pallidum is the agent of the Syphilis, venereal disease involving a canker at the point of inoculation and cutaneous lesions.

  • Treponema pertenue is the agent of the pian (intertropical areas), involving cutaneous lesions.
  • Treponema carateum is the agent of the pinta or badly LED pinto in America exchange and of the south, disease characterized by cutaneous lesions.
  • Treponema vincentii , Treponema denticola is nonpathogenic and is represented in the normal human flora.
  • Treponema paraluiscuniculi is pathogenic in domestic rabbits and wild rabbits.
