Trade union interdépartemental for the cleansing of the Paris and its suburbs

The trade union interdépartemental for the cleansing of the Paris and its suburbs (SIAAP) is a public corporation in administrative matter French created in 1971 by the town of Paris and the department of the Hauts-de-Seine, of Seine-Saint-Denis and the the Valley-of-Marne to treat the Waste water Paris and its suburbs. Its field of action extended thereafter to part of the department of the the Essonne, Yvelines and Val-d'Oise.

This organization ensures today the treatment of approximately 850 million cubic meters of waste water per annum, corresponding to the effluents emitted by nearly eight million inhabitants and linked activities to four million employment.
