Tracker (finance)
a tracker or Exchange Traded Funds is a OPCVM indiciel with dimensions. This OPCVM has the aim of retorting the performance of a Market index which can be an index actions, a bond index or a raw material index.
Classification
NYSE Euronext proposes to classify the trackers in four categories:- trackers on indices of market
- trackers on raw material indices
- trackers on indices of strategy
- active trackers: contrary to the other categories, they do not reproduce only the evolution of their index of reference. One finds funds with action leverage, protected capital, and funds posting an opposite performance of the index.
Compared with traditional OPCVM, the trackers are negotiable at every moment of the meeting and present definitely reduced overheads. Another advantage of this kind of product is that the majority of them are eligible with PEA even if their exposure relates to a foreign index except European Union. In June 2007, NYSE Euronext accommodated 201 trackers (including 165 on Euronext Paris).
In France, the trackers are with dimensions on the compartment Nextrack d' Euronext of 09:05 to 17:40.
