Tom Petty

Thomas Earl Petty known as Tom Petty , born the October 20th 1950 with Gainesville in Florida is a Chanteur and Guitariste of American Rock.

Biography

Tom Petty is the leader and type-setter of the group Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, rock group American whose most known song is their success of the end of the the Seventies, " Breakdown". Petty and the members of its group started by playing in their country of origin, the Florida, but in the middle of the Seventies they left for Los Angeles in order to record their future albums. Their first homonymous album of 1976 includes the titles " Breakdown" and " American Girl" , and first of all receives very warm welcome with the the United Kingdom. At the time of the exit of their second album, in 1978, ( You' Re Gonna Get It ) the first settles in the American classifications of the best sales. The success of the album Damn the Torpedoes , in 1979, directly propels them circuit of the night clubs in rooms of national importance. At the end of the the Eighties, Tom Petty starts a career solo. The album Full Moon Fever leaves in 1989 and settles in the top of the classification of the best sales this year. In the same period, he collaborates with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynne within the group The Travelling Wilburys. Among other notorious successes of Petty, entered in 2002 with the Rock'n'roll Hall off Famed, one can quote " Don' T C Me Like That" , " Don' T Like Around Young stag No More" , " Into the Great Wide Open", " Free Falling" and " Learning to fly".

Cinema

In the film The Postman , written by Eric Roth, and carried out by Kevin Costner and left in 1997, Tom Petty plays the part of the mayor of one of the independent cities which visit Postman (the factor) played by Kevin Costner. It is interesting to note there that Tom Petty plays her own part, since Postman recognizes in him the celebrity of the pre-apocalyptic world, without more precision. Amusing fact, Tom Petty would be 63 years old at the time described in the film (whose action proceeds in 2013) but its face was however not out-of-date artificially for the occasion…
