Tokyo Disneyland

Tokyo Disneyland () is the first Disney park built apart from the the United States, opened in 1983. The park is located in the complex Tokyo Disney Resort. It copies mainly the Magic Kingdom of which it takes again the plan (inspired of Disneyland) and the castle of Cinderella. But the successive additions since the opening gummed the resemblances a little. A particular element is the absence of a train girdling the park, this one makes only the turn of Adventureland and Westernland.

The project and the history

The company Oriental Land Company was founded in July 1960 in order to build a great zone of leisures as well as offices and residences on a maritime space step yet polderized. The creation of the polder lasted of July 1964 with November 1975.

The park

World Bazaar

Grand Emporium is the largest shop of the park. It was increased in 2001, its name changed Grand Emporium Emporium.
Main Street Cinema was a small attraction with six screens diffusing of traditional of Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck. It was removed to increase the Emporium .
Towne Clothiers was a shop of Disney clothing, annexed by the Emporium in 2001.

Southern block

It is the block located on the left before the central place. While continuing on Hand Street :

This country is devoted to the future and takes again same architecture and general provision that the Magic Kingdom.

Since the central place of the park, a bridge spans the river. Two futuristic buildings (for the years 1960) with each one a spur launched towards the sky frame the bridge and the driving way with Space Mountain. It is in the right part, that the principal changes occur compared to its elder. It is possible to turn over in World Bazaar while skirting this building. The two futuristic buildings on both sides of the entry accommodate the majority of the shops, restaurants and attractions. An avenue skirts the unit. Other side of this way, four large houses lodge attractions (of which Space Mountain) and a zone accommodates near Fantasyland the track of race which as with the Magic Kingdom was curtailed for the construction of Toontown.

The avenue and houses

Meet the World was located in the house nearest to World Bazaar. It was a rotary theater telling the history of the Japan and its meetings with other civilizations. The appearance points out the international exhibitions of Années 1950. Attraction closed the June 30th 2002 and remains for the moment without future.

attraction should also have existed in the house of the Japan of EPCOT.

Star Turns is celebrates it attraction based on Star Wars. Here it takes seat in a building worthy of the offices built in the Années 1980 - 1990 with the Japan. Skyway was a cable car connecting Fantasyland to Tomorrowland. Because of the costs of maintenance attraction closed in 1998. The station of Fantasyland was destroyed to be replaced by an attraction on Winnie the bear cub.

Grand Circuit Raceway is a track of race of miniature cars like that of the Magic Kingdom.

Starjets is a horse-gear with rockets of the type Saturn V. Its equivalents of Disneyland and Magic Kingdom were replaced between 1966 and 1998 by Astro Orbitor, conceived for Disneyland Paris.
