Titus Tatius
Titus Tatius , legendary king of Cures (or Quirium), at the Sabins, king of Rome of which it divided the throne with Romulus.
It was already old when the abduction of the girls sabines made him take the weapons against Romulus, 745 av. J. - C. According to the vulgar account, it entered the citadel, thanks to the treason of Tarpeïa, and delivered three engagements to the Romans: it was going to overcome in the last when the intervention of Sabines put an end to the combat. It is him which made kill Tarpéia (on the site of the Roche tarpéienne) after this one had opened to him the doors of the citadel of the Capitole.
Tatius agree to reign jointly with Romulus on the plain people of the Romans and the Quirites ( populus Romanus Quiritium ). At the end of 5 years, Tatius was killed with Lavinium, by inhabitants of Laurente to which he refused justice; Romulus was suspected of having had share with this murder.
