Tinjil
The island of Tinjil is located at 16 kilometers at broad of the peninsula of Ujung Kulon, at the Western end of the island of Java in Indonesia. With a surface of 600 hectares, it is covered with tropical forest and is surrounded by coral reefs.
Tinjil was developed in natural habitat, the " Tinjil Island Natural Habitat Breeding Facility" , to protect the macaque with long tail or Macaque crabier ( macaca fascicularis ), whose population is estimated at approximately 2.200.
Administratively, Tinjil belongs to the kabupaten (department) of Pandeglang in the province of Banten. Another island of the kabupaten is the island of Deli, also located in the Indian Ocean.
