Timothy Richard Lewis is a British Médecin , born the October 31st 1841 with Llanboidy in the Carmarthenshire with the Wales and dead the May 7th 1886 with Woolston in the Southampton.

He is the son of William and Britania born Richards. He leaves the school at 15 years to enter in training as pharmacist to Narbeth. In 1861, it leaves to London to work with German Hospital and fact of the studies to the University College of 1863 with 1866. It off obtains the diplomas of Bachelor medicine and of Master off surgery in 1867. In 1868, it works as surgeon assisting for the army, reached the rank of sergeant in 1873 and quartermaster-sergeant in 1880.

Lewis works with David Douglas Cunningham (1843-1914) on the Choléra in India of 1869 with 1883. It Marie with Emily Francis Brown the October 8th 1879, union of which will be born two children.

In 1883, he becomes professor attending of Pathologie the school of health of the armies of Netley. In 1886, whereas it had just been recommended to become member of the Royal Society, it dies in 44 years of a Pneumonie and a contracted Septicémie whereas it practiced an autopsy.

Lewis studies in particular the Helminthe S and other parasites as well at the mankind as in the animal. It has the appearance of a pioneer in the study of tropical diseases like the cholera or the Lèpre.
