Third (office)

Tierce is a prayer of the Divine office.

This office holds its name of the third hour of the day, moment to which he is recited by the monks. He thus usually is sung or said around 9 hours of the morning.

In the Roman Rite, it is composed of an anthem, 3 psalms (or pieces of psalms), of a small reading, a verse and of a speech.
