Thermo-hygrometrical Continuum
For the cartographer and the ecologist, they are the surfaces or habitats (in the ground, the basement, on the level of the ground and until in canopée) characterized by a relative homogeneity of the couple “ Température - Hygrométrie ”. It is of this couple that the depends Dewpoint, or the point of icing. These two dependant parameters have a great importance for many animal species, vegetable and fungic. Each species is indeed characterized for these parameters by an optimal fork of life with minima and maximum of survival out which the individual dies or ceases his activity (hibernation, estivation, enkystement.).
Stakes
- They are probably important for the fire hazards and the health of the plants.
- They are discrete but very important as regards ecology of the landscape.
- But the relative humidity of the air depends on the evaporation, but also and sometimes especially of the evapotranspiration, two factors which can be strongly modified by human activities (proofing of the grounds, weeding, drainage, irrigation, etc).
- the thermo-hygrometrical, olfactive and auditive stimulis are determining factors for many animal activities (alarm clock, sleep, drive out, migration, maternage.), but the odor is carried better and much further, like the sounds by the humid air.
The human activities strongly interfere with the natural thermohygrometric continumms, in particular via the proofing of the grounds, the devegetalisation and the artificialisation of the mediums, the drainage or watering, etc
