Theo van Doesburg

Theo van Doesburg , pseudonym of Christian Emil Marie Küpper , is a painter and theorist of Dutch art, born with Utrecht in 1883, deceased with Davos in 1931.

Fellow traveller of Piet Mondrian, he is the founder of the review De Stijl in which he exposed his theories on the Abstraction in painting, he was also architect and poet.

As painter, it took part in particular in 1926 with Hans Arp and Sophie Taeuber-Arp in the decoration of the Aubette in Strasbourg.
