Theater Nanterre-Almond trees

The Theater Nanterre-Almond trees, resulting from a collective initiative, is an important theater of the Paris region, recognized like national dramatic Center since 1971.

The Theater of the Almond trees of Nanterre is perceived like a high place of contemporary theatrical creation. It accommodated prestigious authors for the creation of many parts (in particular Jean Genet, Bernard-Marie Koltès or Heiner Müller) as well as directors recognized and inventive like Patrice Chéreau, Jean-Pierre Vincent, Stanislas Nordey, Anatoli Vassiliev

History

  • 1965 : First Festival of Nanterre, under capital with the locality Coast of the Almond trees, by the Company Pierre Discharges which takes the name of Théâtre of the Almond trees .

  • 1966: Second Festival of Nanterre in the unused military hangars of the ground of the current Faculty of Letters.
  • 1967: Third Festival of Nanterre to the Sport hall.
  • 1968: Agreement between the State and the City for the realization of a House of the Culture to Nanterre.
  • 1969: Opening of the provisional building of the Theater of the Almond trees and prefiguration of the House of the Culture, Pierre direction Discharges/Pierre Laville.
  • 1971: Creation of the national dramatic Center of Nanterre.
  • 1974: Opening of the building site of the future Theater of the Almond trees. Pierre Debauche chooses to keep the direction of the Maison of the Culture in order to ensure the realization of the construction schedule of the building. Xavier Pommeret takes the direction of the national dramatic Center.
  • 1976: Constitution of Association House of the Culture. Inauguration of the final building of the Theater of the Almond trees .
  • 1978: Nomination of Raoul Strapped with the direction of the Maison of the Culture.
  • 1982: Dissolution of the House of the Culture and the national dramatic Center of Nanterre. Constitution of the S.A.R.L Nanterre-Almond trees whose Patrice Chéreau and Catherine Tasca becomes directors.
  • 1990: Jean-Pierre Vincent takes the direction of Nanterre-Almond trees.
  • 1991: The ATEM of Georges Aperghis comes to settle in Nanterre. The contemporary musical theater is thus regularly present in the programming.
  • 1995: Creation of a permanent troop. Association of Stanislas Nordey and Jean Jourdheuil to the artistic walk of Nanterre-Almond trees.
  • 1997: Departure of Stanislas Nordey and his troop.
  • 2001: Jean-Pierre Vincent leaves the Theater of the Almond trees. Departure of the ATEM.
  • 2002: Nomination of Jean-Louis Martinelli with the direction of the Theater of the Almond trees.
