The dead Man
the dead Man is a table carried out by the painter Edouard Manet in the middle of the Années 1860. It constitutes one of the last known examples of the period hispanisante of Manet, during which the painter was largely influenced by the Spanish Peinture and Diego Vélasquez.
Work, in the beginning, was in fact only part of a vaster composition intended for the Salon of Paris of the same year, and entitled Épisode of a bullfight : the painter, of his own dissatisfied consent, cut out and preserved the only successful part of the table to put a term at the mockeries of the public, which had fun tiny size of the Taureau in background.
