the Share of the other is a Romance of the writer French Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, published in 2001.

The author writes a fictionalized Biographie of Hitler in parallel with a uchronic biography of Adolf H. the historical character fails the beginning of the novel with the entrance examination with the École of the Art schools of Vienna and starts to descend the way which will lead it to the direction of the party Nazi then of the Germany. Adolf H., as for him, enters this school and discovers a world and feelings that its forever known double according to Schmitt.

Because, according to Schmitt, “the minute which changed the course of the world is that where one of the members of the jury of the School of the Art schools of Vienna pronounced the sentence “Adolf Hitler: readjusted. ””

In the version where it is allowed at the School of the Art schools, it meets very quickly the doctor Sigmund Freud, recognized like the creator of the Psychanalyse and hero of a play of Schmitt, the Visitor .

Analyzes

By a humanization necessary of Hitler, the author shows that the world could have been very different and that each one of us contains Hitler in power, a possibility of making the evil. This share that the majority of the men hide unceasingly, drive back, are regarded here as a prelude to the war, with death. The author by approaching this reflection tries to include/understand without justifying not to more re-examine one such drama on our planet.
