The Saar
the Saar is a provincial town of Quebec (Canada), in the regional municipality of county of Abitibi-West of the administrative area Abitibi-Témiscamingue. A regiment which was useful under Montcalm is at the origin of the denomination of the City.
Old post office of the Company of Hudson Bay, the Saar constitutes one of the first three colonies of Abitibi and, at beginning of the century, she played the parts of capital of the west of the area and center of the district of colonization.

Chronology
- 1916 : Proclamation of the canton of the Saar.
- 1917: The canton of the Saar is incorporated in municipality of canton.
- 1937: Foundation of the village of the Saar. First house built by Mr. Néré Aubé, which still remains there.
- 1949: The village of the Saar becomes a city.
- April 19th 1980: Creation of the new city of the Saar by the fusion of the old city and the canton of the Saar.
