The Red Hillock

the Red Hillock is a song of Montéhus on a music of Georges Krier. Written in 1919 after the First World War.

Songs anti-war par excellence, one often identifies it with all working repressions. Contrast between the slow waltz of its music and the words is remarkable.

It was taken again by many singers, quote:

Refrain

We will quote only the refrain, the text still seeming under copyright:

Red Butt', it is its name, the baptism was done one morning

Where all those which went up rolled in the ravine.
Aujourd'hui' has there vines, it pushes grape there.
Which will drink this wine there, will drink the blood of the buddies.
  • the text of the song.
